Do I need a visa, a green card, or to be in the United States?
No. The company is formed while you are living in your own country. You do not need to travel.
No. The company is formed while you are living in your own country. You do not need to travel.
A large, well-known economy with no state income tax. There is no separate state fee to track — that is included in what we charge you.
And something almost nobody says out loud: forming in Texas does not remove a registration your company may owe in the state where the property actually is, if that state is not Texas. If the property is in Florida or Pennsylvania, there is often an additional registration there. Tell us where the property is — in chat, or by email — and we will tell you plainly whether that applies to you.
An EIN is for your company — the number the IRS uses to identify your LLC. We get this for you at no charge as part of forming the company (see What's included, above).
An ITIN is different: a personal taxpayer number for you, not the company, mainly useful for opening accounts at traditional US banks. You do not need an ITIN to form the LLC or to get its EIN — despite what some other providers imply. Getting an ITIN is a personal tax matter, outside what Kingsgate does. If you need one, that is a separate step, direct with the IRS or a Certifying Acceptance Agent.
For anything Kingsgate handles, no — your company uses its own EIN, not your personal SSN.
Whether the county or auction platform where you are bidding asks for a US taxpayer ID is a separate question, and it varies by county. Kingsgate does not handle the property or auction side of a purchase, so we do not have one confirmed answer that covers every county. Ask the specific county or platform before you plan around it.
Yes. We start by reviewing what was done and what was left open, and we tell you what we found before you decide anything.
This depends on your specific states and how the property is used, and it is a real open question we are still working through with an attorney — not something we can answer the same way for everyone.
Tell us which states, in chat or by email, and we will walk through your case directly before you decide how to structure it.
It depends on the deadline. Some are heavier than others — Form 5472 is the one companies notice most, and penalties can apply if it is filed late or not filed at all.
This is not said to frighten you. It is the reason a calendar exists instead of a folder of documents.
It depends on the state’s own processing queue and on how quickly you send us what we ask for. Ask in chat and we will give you a specific estimate for your situation, rather than one number that would be wrong for most people.
No law requires it — you can hold US property in your own name. Many non-resident buyers use an LLC anyway, because it puts the ongoing government paperwork, and often the liability, on the company instead of on them personally.
Whether an LLC is the right structure for your specific situation is a legal and tax question — not something Kingsgate advises on directly. A licensed attorney or CPA can confirm what fits your case. What Kingsgate does is form the LLC correctly and keep it compliant once you have decided you want one.
Yes. Kingsgate forms and maintains Texas LLCs for any non-resident who needs one — property is one common reason, but far from the only one. E-commerce sellers, freelancers and consultants working with US clients, and remote business owners who want a US entity all use the same formation and compliance service.
The company itself, its registered agent, its address, and its compliance calendar work the same way regardless of what the business does. What can differ is whether your specific activity triggers its own separate requirement — sales tax registration for an online store, for example — which is outside what the calendar tracks today. Ask in chat about your specific case.
A registered agent is a person or company with a physical address in the state your LLC is formed in, whose job is to receive official mail on the company's behalf — lawsuits, state notices, tax correspondence. Texas, like every state, requires every LLC to have one at all times.
Kingsgate provides registered-agent service through the Registered Agent product if you already have your own US address, or through Agent + Address if you need a US address too (see Services) — either way, kept active for as long as your annual renewal is current. If you already have a registered agent through another provider, you do not need to buy this from us.
A registered agent is a legal requirement, not a convenience — Texas law requires every LLC to name one, and it has to be a real person or company available at a Texas address during business hours to accept legal and state mail on the company’s behalf. If you live in Texas, you can be your own agent. If you don’t, you need someone who is — that’s what the Registered Agent product is.
A US mailing address is a different, separate need: somewhere your bank card and government letters can go. If you already live in the US, anywhere, you already have that — you just need the agent. If you have no US address at all, which in practice describes most international founders, you need both, which is what Agent + Address is for.
Broadly: you tell us what you need, we prepare and file the formation documents with the state, get the company its EIN from the IRS, and set up the registered agent and address it is required to have. None of it requires a US visa or travel.
Exact timing depends on the state’s own processing queue and on how quickly you send us what we ask for — ask in chat for a specific estimate rather than one number that would be wrong for most people.
A single-member US company owned from outside the US files a pro-forma Form 1120 with Form 5472 attached, due when that Form 1120 is due, including extensions. Kingsgate prepares both and files them. A company with more than one owner files a partnership return instead, which Kingsgate does not prepare.
The recurring list: Form 5472 and a pro-forma 1120 (federal), the state annual report or franchise filing, and the registered agent renewal — plus county property tax if the LLC owns property, and a BE-13 in specific cases. Some activities trigger their own separate requirements outside this list, depending on what the business does.
This is the deadline calendar’s whole job: one row per obligation, with warnings at 60, 30, and 7 days, so nothing depends on a piece of mail actually reaching you first.
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. Several other services quote a lower number for the first year. What's different here: there's no free-first-year pricing that jumps to a higher number later — the renewal price we tell you on day one is the price you pay.
The other real difference is what the price covers. We don't just remind you when your annual Texas filing is due — as part of the Registered Agent and Agent + Address renewal, Kingsgate actually files your Texas Public Information Report each year.
Not a personal one. If you don’t already have a US address of your own, your company can have its own through Kingsgate (part of Agent + Address) — otherwise your existing US address is what goes on file with the state and the IRS. Whether you personally want a US bank account depends on how your business operates — if you do, we prepare the documents a bank typically asks for, but the bank makes its own decision and nobody can guarantee approval. Be suspicious of anyone who says they can.
